Medication Nursing Assistant (MNA)
The Medication Nursing Assistant (MNA) Program allows experienced LNAs to advance in their nursing career. As a valuable member of the care team, an MNA will work under the direction of an RN or LPN to administer medication to stable clients in long-term care facilities. This course covers all of the basic principles and techniques of medication administration including an overview of common drugs, their effects and side effects, and key safety issues that include medication interactions, common errors, over-the-counter medications, and medication use in older adults.
The MNA Course is a blended structure made up of three components:
Part One: Theory (offered online only)
Part Two: Pre-clinical lab skills (in-person)
Part Three: Clinical (in-person)

MNA Course Fees
Seat Deposit Fee: $450 (due at sign up, non-refundable)
Supplies Fee: $200
Criminal Record Check: $25
State Exam – Written: $100
State Exam – Clinical: $100
Tuition: $1,125
TOTAL: $2,000
After students graduate from LNA Health Careers, they are eligible to take the State Board Competency Examination to become a Licensed Medication Nursing Assistant (MNA).
- 3,744 hour of employment as an LNA (about 2 years full time)
- 2 Character references (from DON or Nurse Supervisor)
- Active LNA license
- COVID Vaccine
- 2-Step TB Test
- Computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone to complete the online component
- Strong WIFI connection to stream course lectures and skills videos
