    Hi Beatriz, I really enjoyed reading your post, it is clear how much your cultural background has shaped your values. I can definitely agree with you that having a strong support system often times makes the biggest difference in your success overall. I can tell how much your family means to you, the way you described your parents teaching you responsibility and respect really stood out to me. Having those two things instilled in you definitely sets the tone for how you interact with people from a different cultural background then you.

    Hi silva, thank you so much for sharing! being someone who also immigrated to the United States from the ivory coast we have similar backgrounds as far as, community and family. what you explained is not uncommon in my culture as well, I can imagine growing up with all of your family must’ve been incredible. That level of community sounds like a recipe for success! Growing up so close to your “extended family” I can imagine gives you more insight on yourself as well. I’m curious to know what are somethings that you have adopted from American culture since moving here?
