Yes Grace, I agree. These are all common mistakes. Another one I can think of is overly using quotes and misusing paraphrasing. I know I have made these common mistakes in the past. I am learning to fix my mistakes with every paper I write. I appreciate that fact that you included a direct source to assist with APA format. This resource should be used more.

I agree, APA format is so detailed that some aspects of it can be forgotten or overlooked. I am still getting in the hang of writing in APA that sometimes I still find myself making these common mistakes. I also agree about what you mentioned about the title page. We often do not consider the cover page as a part of the actual paper but it is when it comes to APA format. It is all a learning process

Yes Grace I can relate to the self doubt. I still have moments of self doubt but that is when I tap into my faith and God reminds me that he opened the door for me to go back to school and he will see me through the times where I don’t feel like I am good enough. Also the balance of school and just life in general is a work in progress. It may take time but we will eventually find the balance.

I admire you for balancing family and school. I know it is not easy. You should be proud that we are seven weeks into the first semester and you’ve been doing great. It is great to have a supportive family to allow you to accomplish your goals. Time management comes with time. I feel like we are all still trying to find balance with school, work and family

Yes google scholar is a great credible source for research. Also I like the examples of the peered reviewed journal websites they gave us in the prep program as well. BMC nursing, NAtional institute of health, American Nurse Association, and Open access journal. These have all ben useful for me during my research.

I agree it is important to know that your sources are credible especially when the assignment is for a research paper. I am glad we know know what credible sources to look for and which ones to stay away from.

    Hi Fatuma,

Yes I agree with you. Using a transfer lift to assistive is a way of keeping patients safe at all times. Stand lifts, slide boards and Sara steadys are other assistive devices to help transfer as well.

    Hi Grace,

I appreciate your take on evidence based practice. Fall prevention is a great example of evidence based practices. We should ensure our patients are safe at all times. Also making sure their room is free of clutter and and making sure they have their assistive devices as well.

Yes Kristin, I agree when approaching children it should be done in a thoughtful way. Protecting the child should be at the forefront of the parents and the researcher involved in the study.

Hi Grace, I agree with your post. I appreciate the fact that you mentioned having the child best interest at heart. I think it is our duty and responsibility to approach children with care knowing they are a vulnerable population.

Hi Bee I appreciate your take on the differences between the two. I agree that both are valuable for researching. I like more of the objective take on it because I think it would be more accurate information.

Hi Cindy. I liked how you broke down the difference between the two. They are both similar in that they want to collect some type of data. One is subjective and the other is objective. We know that objective is what we observe and subjective is through what someone tells us.

Hi Bee yes I agree the internet is a blessing and a curse. I said on my post that I think the internet is a great resource for ideas and to get your mind stimulated. These days I believe that the internet is needed. It is up to us on how distracted we get from being on the internet.

Hi Cynthia, I agree that our environment can lead to distractions along with the internet. For me I have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time so I find myself searching a topic on the internet and I’ll end up somewhere else completely off topic. I am like you that I get a lot of my ideas from the internet as well. I need to learn how to not get so distracted.

Hi Beatriz, I enjoyed reading your post. I agree that medical errors can happen if your communication is unclear. Wordiness can get in the way of what you are trying to say. Communication should be clear and easy for everyone to understand.
