Hi Grace, I agree that the internet can be a great resource tool when you need inspiration or need help finding information for research. I definitely agree that you can lose focus and procrastinate when trying to write. It is very important to find balance !

Hi Cindi, I agree that the internet can be very distracting. I also believe that it can be very helpful when you need to research and need a little help when doing classwork. The internet can be very helpful since it is at the tip of our fingers.

in reply to: clear communication #43783

Hi Fatuma, I agree with you that we can put patients at risk if we do not have clear communication. Adding extra words when trying to communicate with one another, might get a little confusing. I believe that when we add extra information, the important information that we are to relay gets lost.

in reply to: Consequences of poor communication #43782

Hi Kristin, I agree with you and not wanting to confuse patients by not having clear communication. I feel like sometimes we can get carried away explaining certain things to patients, which could end up confusing them. Having clear communication with patients is important, so that they are not overwhelmed in a setting that they already might feel a little anxious about.

    Hi Swami,
I can definitely see how you would categorize yourself as a narrative writer. You are great at sharing your experiences and stories with everyone in class. I agree with Stephanie, you would make a great persuasive writer, you have a way of engaging with the class. I am excited about English and discovering if I have any other different writing styles.

    Hi Fatuma,
I think you would be great a narrative writing. I could see how you would be great at telling stories and engaging with the audience. In class, you definitely do not seem like the type to be shy, you are very outgoing and crack a lot of jokes. I also agree with Kristin, that you are very funny and animated. I can only imagine how great of narrative writer you would be.

in reply to: Gene editing #43705

    Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for sharing your stand point on gene editing. I agree with you that there are some positives with gene editing, such as potentially treating genetic disease such as sickle cell. I also do believe that if we use technology to “treat” disease, that only the rich would be able to afford it because I am sure that it would cost thousands or maybe even more. I can only see the cost being the negative aspect currently.

in reply to: Artificial human beings #43704

    Hi Fatuma,
Thanks for sharing your viewpoint on the future of humanity. I agree with you on letting God choose what will happen to our future children. I also do not agree with editing genes and artificial wombs. I can understand your concerns with how this can and will affect children. Technology is great and all, but it still has its malfunctions and it is not perfect. I understand and respect your cultural beliefs. Soon they will be artificial human beings all over.

    Hi Stephanie!
I am glad that you decided to stay and start nursing school. It’s a joy being in class with you and your laughter is contagious. I also love reading psychological thrillers, it’s exciting. Writing in a journal is a really great way to let go of some stress. I can see that you will make a great nurse at the end of this program, because it shows in your personality.

    Hi Charlotte!
I am so proud of you for you continuing your path to becoming a registered nurse. I can understand how tough it might be with life’s obstacles getting in the way. I have two girls and I can only imagine how much you have your hands with four girls, even with them being older. It’s nice having people in the field encouraging you to reach your goals! Your personality is amazing and I can’t wait to see you flourish even more this semester!

in reply to: culture background #43573

    Hi Fatuma,

Thank you for sharing a little bit about your culture. It’s very interesting to read about your culture and read how making eye contact with an elder while speaking is a sign of disrespect and in my culture, that is a sign of respect. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you to attend two different schools and navigate your studies. You are an amazing person and I am glad to get to know you.

    Hi Swami,

I really enjoyed reading about your culture. Even though we grew up in different cultures, there are a lot of similarities. We also are taught to show signs of respect to our elders and care for everyone. I can see being in class with you, that you are a very sweet person and that your culture plays a huge part in your life. You are a friendly person and I enjoy being tour classmate.
