Hi Cristina, I really appreciated your post on how operant conditioning and learning styles intersect in nursing care. Your point about using behavior shaping for dietary changes is a great practical example of how we can make overwhelming lifestyle shifts more manageable for patients. By reinforcing small, achievable goals, we build their confidence along with their health.

I also agree that identifying a patient’s learning style early is a game-changer for education. For kinesthetic learners, I’ve found that the ‘teach-back’ method combined with hands-on practice—like having them actually prime a pen or change a bandage while we watch—is often more effective than any written pamphlet. It really does reduce that ‘short-term compliance’ trap you mentioned and helps them feel more empowered in their own care. Great insights!”

    Hi
I love your explanation of mental health, and I agree with you when you say that when nurses have an understanding of mental health, they will treat the patient with a better understanding and have empathy for them. The point you made about how understanding the function of the different brain areas can directly guide the selection of calm strategies. I agree when you say that Elevated cortisol due to stress can lead to heart disease. It’s also important to mention that physical health problems can worsen mental health. For example, a patient who has a chronic illness or cancer can have a trigger of depression because of what they are dealing with.

    hi Ava
I agree with you that males are more aggressive than females. It might also be a factor of hormones like testosterone, which females don’t naturally have in their bodies.

The cognitive domain is crucial for nursing, as nurses assess and care for patients. They need the ability to think and communicate, and an open mindset to learn new things. You are correct that the nurse’s first impression is the most important, especially when it comes to those with mental health disorders. You have to make them feel that you are there for them and you care about them to have a positive outcome

Hi! Third time is a charm. Sometimes things happen in life, and you wonder why, but I believe everything happens for a reason, and things come to you at the right time. The good thing is that you didn’t give up; you kept going. I look up to that. Even falling off your bike, that didn’t stop you. Next year you will ride again. That’s life, I guess, when it throws you lemons, you make lemonade. lol a delicious one. The one person will spend 10 dollars instead of 2 dollars.

I can’t imagine what you went through. The fact that you picked yourself up and never gave up says a lot about you and the kind of person you are. Nursing school is not easy at all. But with hard work and the right mindset, it is possible. We must never give up on our dreams.

    hey
I agree that children don’t always understand and are not at an age where they can make their own decisions when it comes to such an important matter. A parent needs to be there to make sure the child is protected.

Hello, I agree with you that you need permission from both parents to start with anything. Our children are the future, and we must always protect them at all costs. Young kids are still very young to make such decisions on their own. It is essential for a parent or guardian to always be there.

Hello ava. I agree with you when you say that it is important to give credit when you use someones work even if you word it differently. Some people use peoples ideas but wording it differently and they think its not part of plagiarism but it is.

Hi! yes you are correct the is no excuse for it specially we have so much resource around us that makes this easy. If you are not sure you can always ask your class mate or your teacher. Some people have no idea what plagiarism is and that is why its important to always get a second opinion if you not sure in case you miss something.

hi! yes it is important to give the writer credit for their hard work even if you don’t copy word for word, you are still using their idea to write your paper so it is important to use in-text citation. I use My bib as well and its very helpful when in doubt. Its amazing how much resource we have access to. It makes life easier.
