Dr. Pou’s physical appearance is quite striking. The author takes great care to describe her petite frame and attributes her small stature to her father. Additionally, the author makes repeated mention of her dark hair and well-defined eyebrows. I was somewhat surprised by the level of detail the author went into regarding her beauty. It almost felt as if the author was implying that doctors are not typically considered attractive, at least that’s the impression I got. Dr. Pou’s notable strengths include her leadership skills and her proactive approach, while her vulnerability lies in her tendency to challenge established hierarchies.
After absorbing this section, I find myself harboring resentment toward the CEO and possibly the hospital owners. It appears to me that they may have knowingly skimped on preparations, driven more by a desire for profit than the well-being of the people who depend on the hospital. If they had prioritized safety over saving a buck, these individuals wouldn’t have been exposed to the dangers they faced. Proper precautions and protocols could have been put in place to ensure their safety.
Martial law comes into play during emergencies when local emergency responders are no longer able to maintain control or provide assistance. It’s a temporary measure that grants the military authority over the situation, allowing them to take charge and restore order when needed.
