I observed verbal and nonverbal behaviors. The two adults were involved in conversation, alternating between formal and informal language. They kept eye contact, emphasized points with hand gestures, and exuded an easygoing vibe with their body language. While one made a lot of facial gestures, and the other one nodded repeatedly in agreement.
Based on observation, they both felt at ease in each other’s company. Their frequent smiles and laughs suggested they were enjoying the chat. There were also somber moments, especially when they talked about their personal problems.
I noticed discrepancies between verbal and nonverbal communication during the exchange. A few times, there was a misalignment between verbal and nonverbal communication. For instance, one person was grinning and joking while talking about a difficult circumstance at home. This can mean that they were attempting to downplay how severe the event was or that they felt uncomfortable talking about it.
