IV Therapy Education Program (Blended Course) for LPNs and RNs
Our 32-hour IV Therapy Education Program is comprised of 28-hours of didactic that is currently available through our INFUSION KNOWLEDGE UNIVERSITY online platform, which is then followed by a 4-hour hands-on simulated IV skills lab. We travel to healthcare facilities to provide this class as needed!

IV Therapy Course Content Includes:
- 28-hour online program (completed on Infusion Knowledge University website)
- Introduction and overview of current IV therapy practice
- National standards and guidelines related to IV therapy.
- Special considerations for geriatric and pediatric patients
- Legal aspects, patient consent and documentation
- Comprehensive review of peripheral and central venous access devices
- Live video demonstration of a peripheral IV catheter insertion and an implanted venous port access
- Site care and maintenance recommendations
- IV medication and fluid administration
- Total Parenteral Nutrition
- 4-hour hands-on IV skills lab (facilitated by LNA Health Careers)
