It’s important as a nurse to keep patient safe. Couple ways of doing this is by making sure that you triple check the medication that you are giving to the patient whether an injection or medication. It came seem like a triple check that will take a while to do. But really it only takes a few extra minutes. you will want to make sure you have the right patient, dose, time, route and document correctly. There can be other side effect that could happen if you gave them the wrong medication. for example, allergic reaction and maybe interfere with another medication that they are taking.
