patient safety is very important, You never know what could happen. A small error could have major impact on your patient or someone else. Alway check for the right patient, does, route, and allergy. It’s really important to observe you patient after any medication is given, old prescription or new. You also want to make sure your patient actually swallows the medication and doesn’t hide it and or give to someone else. there’s always the possibility that your patients have had a friend or family member bring them in a medication that you don’t know about. It’s best to always remain vigilant no matter where you work.
