What Does an EKG Technician Do?
  • Perform cardiovascular tests on patients
  • Keep patients informed about every step of the procedure
  • Identify various heart conditions
  • Monitor patient blood pressure
  • Collect cardiovascular data for doctors’ analysis
  • Work alongside doctors and nurses
  • Set up EKG components for accurate readings
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort

  • Monitor EKG equipment and report any malfunctions
  • Part 1: Online Theory
    • Use our online learning platform to work through the program curriculum and course materials at your own pace.
  • Part 2: In-Person Skills Lab
    • After completing the online theory portion of the program, students will schedule an in-person skill demonstration hosted at our Manchester campus.
    • Students perform 10 live EKGs on volunteers who they invite to accompany them to class.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active health insurance plan and card
  • Proficiency in English and basic math skills as determined by our pre-entrance exam; 80% or higher required to pass
    Previous LNA or Phlebotomy course is strongly recommended.

Upon successfully completing the EKG Technician Course, students will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam from the National Healthcareer Association. Interested students must register for the exam with the Program Director through the Admission team.
The cost of the National Exam is $130.
