I know it must be tough going such a long time without being able to see your family but it will all be worth it in the end. Your family will be so proud of you and all your hard work you are putting in for your education. You’re such a ambitious, smart person and I know you will have a lot of success in your future.

Its nice to read other people love where they work and want to continue there as an LPN was graduating. I think thats amazing you want to eventually become an RN!

Hi Melissa, I agree it’s easier to write about personal experiences. When you have gone through it yourself it makes adding all the details and information come naturally. Writing about things you haven’t been through can be a challenge as you may not be able to personally relate to it. It’s nice to see other people also favor narrative writing. I like the story telling/fairy tale aspect of narrative writing. I mentioned in my post I have a big imagination so that’s why I favor narrative writing.

Narrative is the creative form of writing. This form of writing can be tailored to every age and imaginary level. Narrative writing is fictional and telling a story.

Analytical writing is a form of writing you do after gathering information. You read a form of information and break down what you’ve read to discuss your understanding.

Expository writing is a form of writing you do when you are trying to educate people.

Persuasive writing is a form of writing you do when you are trying to convince people to agree with your opinion on a topic. You will give all the information and your opinion on why you have that opinion. When using this writing form you will be very descriptive in order to help the reader understand your point of view and convince them your opinion is correct.

Lastly, argumentative writing is the form of writing you would use when you disagree. It is okay so not always agree with people so you would use this writing to explain why you disagree and hopefully come to a resolution or understanding. You would argue a topic to help prove right from wrong.

Lydia, I think it’s great that you’re good at voicing your opinion. That will be a valuable trait once you’re a nurse as it will aid your ability to advocate for your patients. As well as, in persuasive writing I feel like it’s important for the person writing to be good at expressing their opinions and being honest to be able to get people to understand their side and potentially agree. I look forward to seeing your writing style as this class continues.

Hi Melissa, I can also relate to not feeling like others care as much as me. I work at a nursing but on the dementia unit and take pride in what I do and the care I give. Sometimes I see myself working with people who aren’t used to dementia like I am but I am looking forward to becoming a great nurse and advocating for my residents. I love seeing other LNA’s compassionate like I consider myself!

Hi Lydia! It’s awesome to see other LNA’s furthering their career in nursing. I am curious what kind of dog you have…I have a Saint Bernard and English Bulldog! That’s so interesting that you have your EMT license!
