1. The small group of doctors decided to meet to discuss the decisions made by the hospital. At this gathering they decided to have an anesthesiologist and a doctor leave at first light on a fishing boat to create a more organized rescue effort.
2. Doctor Deichmann is against any suggestions and ideas including euthanization. Susan Mulderink is more focused on the efforts to improve comfortability. Doctor Pou thought the most humane way to go through with this decision was euthanization. Doctor Cook thought it was impossible to evacuate all the patients, especially those who were terminally ill. I believe that euthanization in this situation for the critically ill patients would be the most humane way to go about this. If they got onto the rescue mission, most of them would not be able to survive.
3. While caring for both pets and patients, many tensions were rising. Some thought that the pets were getting too much care which in turn was taking away time and attention from the patients.
4. While reading that the patients were being taken from Memorial onto helicopters, I was feeling extremely happy, but also frustrated. The facility demonstrated throughout this time that they lacked leadership skills. All the suffering that many went through was over for the time being as they were being taken to a safer place with more supplies.
