Dr. Pou was extremely strong mentally. Being able to stay and work through everything they were experiencing during the hurricane. She had a very strong work ethic, and had earned a lot of respect from other doctors and nurses. She was determined through this time, and didn’t give up on her patients, while many others fled the scene. However, it seemed like she failed to have respect for her higher ups. I wonder if this is due to the fact that so many people respected her, that it made her feel like she was above others in some situations.

In this part of the book there were many things that came to mind. You wonder about the safety of the people who are putting their life on the line for others. Without them, who will care for the people that are in need? The hurricane could destroy so much, and they don’t exactly know what the outcome will lead to.

I believe that martial law was put in place d to try to keep the city safe. Individuals were breaking and entering, along with stealing things. Local responders were no longer able to keep up with everything that was going on.

After the hurricane Katrina rips through New Orleans doctor and nurse were still in the hospital taking care of patient.
Martial law is an only instant when there was a lot of Cho. The individual were breaking and entering along with stealing supplies. Law in force were not able to keep off with everything that was going on.
