1. Nurses Cheri Landry and Lori B. Faring are nurses that worked in Memorial Hospital alongside Dr. Pou. Both of the nurses were arrested due to multiple accounts of homicide after patient autopsies found morphine in tons of patients. I think that their testimony before the grand jury was very honest. Karen Wynn’s testimony was conspicuously absent from the grand jury proceedings.
2. Death in the United States is a touchy subject for most that do not want to touch, or discuss it. Everybody has a different view and opinion on death whether it’s related to religion, or culture. Americans were so unprepared for it when time came because they were not completely stocked on supplies, and they didn’t expect the hurricane to be as catastrophic as it was.
3. In my opinion, I believe that justice was not served. These nurses had such a shortage of supplies, had to critically think about their patients and their current health state. The nurses were under an immense amount of stress and pressure. These nurses did what they thought would be best regarding the patient and they were very selfless. If the jury put themselves into the nurses shoes and saw what the nurses endorsed, I believe their thoughts on the case would change.
The nurses were put into a situation where they had to work under harmful conditions and still attempt to help their patients.
