1) What stood out to me in Pou’s arrest was that Pou was booked at the first prison as a fugitive, and the next prison booked her in as second-degree murder on four counts. I was also surprised how the officers seemed very kind to Pou, ensuring she was comfortable during and after getting arrested. I felt sorry for Pou when she was taken to jail, and I’m sure she felt scared and worried about what would happen next.
@) In this case, Innocence can be determined based on the fact that there was no motive for homicide, arguable by Simmons. Another point of Innocence was the extreme circumstances in the storm, and many of the surviving patients have since died.
In this case, guilt can be determined by the fact that injections were still given, even when help came to rescue everyone. Foti also argued that everyone deserves the best chance to live.
3) A person can develop the skills necessary to provide leadership during a crisis by taking action. A person would have to be a leader and be able to communicate well.
4) Charity Hospital had fewer deaths even though they had twice as many patients than Memorial because they provided medical care until the end of the hurricane. Some of the staff at the hospital had special disaster training before the disaster.
The hospital also had backup equipment. The staff got creative and took gas from the cars to power ventilators and cardiac monitors. Some leaders held meetings every four hours for everyone. The team at Charity also made the best of their situation by having talent shows and paiting for the patients.
