1. 45 patients found and was said to be the most patient deaths out of all other area hospitals. although it is now known that hospitals and nursing homes accounted for many deaths
2. They would have to prove they made decisions that were for the staff and patients benefit not greed like did they decide to not evacuate ahead of the storm to avoid substantial costs affected by this choice. they would have to show they followed the proper emergency plans and were prepared.
3. Tenet entrusted the chief medical officer the names of the deceased however they had telephone operators take down messaged from families who were looking for their loved ones these messages were entered into a data base but it would not be until after the bodies were retrieved that the family was given proper info. Tenet then assigned employees to contact the families. The patients that did end up getting evacuated by the Tenet buses and and helicopters did end up in nice cozy places or even another hospital some were left caring for themselves suffering in the cold. The injured ICU nurse was taken to Baton Rouge. Susan Mukderick was taken to a refugee collection point the hospitals executives managed to get transported by helicopter to a near by tenet hospital where they received a hot meal and the ability to shower and be warm. they were later able to take private jets to their desired locations.
4. Family members said their loved ones were fairly stable last they knew of however the autopsy showed possible lethal doses of medications some not even prescribed to the patient These medications were morphine and midazolam which is the brand name for versed and this is a medication that not many are put on routinely put on as its a heavy med used during surgery or being intubated.
5 Butch Scafer mantra ” dont get emotionally involved” is a way to keep no biased as his daughter died due to being over medicated he has to be the best no bias investigator and in order to do this he has to be aware of his own personal bias
