    1) Memorial Hospital had more deaths from Katrina than any other healthcare facility.

    2) Tenet from the hospital will have to show the list of the deceased patients and a copy of the hospital disaster plan and have shown that the hospital followed the disaster plan to demonstrate no wrongdoing concerning patients’ deaths.

    3) Families were informed about their loved ones by phone calls. The Patients evacuated by Tenet busses and helicopters were put in hotel rooms and given meals, showers, and assistance to find their loved ones.

    4) After talking to family members, the investigators learn from Rose Savoie’s family that Rose was in no pain and sitting up when they last saw her in the hospital. Elaine Nelson’s daughter said her mom was strong, and even though she said she was dying, she should not have been euthanized. Her mother would not have wanted to have broken “God’s law.”
The investigators learned that nine of the eighteen patients with an autopsy were positive for morphine, and 5 to 6 patients had Midazolam. Some of the patients also were detected to have common medicine such as stool and anxiety medication.
Midazolam is essential to the case because it is not a common drug to give, and you can’t get a prescription for it at home. It is usually given in operations and when someone is going to be intubated.
Morphine is essential to the case because the autopsy showed the concentration of morphine was very high in the nine patients.

    5) On page 261, Schafer says, “ Don’t . Get. Emotionally. Involved.” to Rider because even though the new evidence they have gathered is enough to pursue justice, they shouldn’t put their feelings into the case. After all, the outcome can be different than what they are expecting. This can relate to Schafer in finding out the reason his daughter died was due to the pharmacy that had filled her prescriptions did not cross-checked them. Her death was considered an accidental overdose.
