Five writing styles
Narrative writing: Tells a story, and has a main character who encounters a problem. includes short stories and personal essays.
Analytical writing: Reviews what you’d read and considers other evidence. Shows the thought process you went through to arrive at the given conclusion. To start this writing you have to choose a POV, have an introduction ending either thesis statement, organize the body of essay, a clear topic sentence, and use evidence throughout the whole essay.
Expository writing: Used to explain, describe, and give information or to inform. includes cause and effect, and compare and contrast essays. You have to have, organization, a topic sentence, transitions, evidence and examples, and a conclusion.
Persuasive writing: Using words to convince the reader that your opinion is correct. People use this writing to establish trust, understand the readers purpose, etc.
Argumentative writing: Investigates a topic, then collect, generate and evaluate evidence and establish a position on the topic. To start you have to select an arguable topic, take a position on the topic, consider evidence and present cleat convincing evidence.`
What type of writer am I?
I would say that I am a narrative writer. I am constantly making up stories in my head and taking them to paper to write about them. I would say I have always been this kind of writer. I love coming up with short stories and doing personal essays and getting to talk about my life and everything that I have been through.
