The 6 rights of medications must be followed in order to prevent medication errors and maintain patients safety. The nurse must always know why she is giving a medication and what will be the result of taking the medications. The nurse should also know what adverse affects to look for. She must make sure to document that the dose was given to prevent a double dose.
