1.The most striking aspect of Dr Pou , is the fact she tries to help the most critical patients for whom the other doctors lost hope and trying to provide them the best possible care.
Strength -Her presence of mind to categorize all the patients and address them with timely attention and care. By this way she was able to provide “The greatest good for the greatest number of people”
Weakness- The decision to euthanize the critically ill patients was based on assumption to the most part .
2.The storm knocked out the hospital’s power and running water and sent the temperatures inside .Generators failed.The workers had an idea of what caused the problem,but no spare parts to fix it .The repair was unsuccessful. Battery powered fans agitating the hot air lost their will and sighed into silence.Dehydration,heart disease,a little extra weight all could impair the body’s ability to rid itself of heat through sweating and other mechanisms.The extra heat in turn could complicate other critical illness.
Going forward Triage is the most important mission .An emergency medicine supply.Emergency power sources such as flashlights,extra batteries.Supplies and equipment must be moved to higher floor in case of flooding .
Considering after effects of hurricane and the necessity for the hospital to maintain order within the facility and to further provide all the necessary care to their patients.
I learnt working in these situation is very challenging and we need to prepare for emergency protocols.
3.Martial law which could be executed in an emergency situation of high alert to maintain security and safety in this situation.
