My plans when I finish this program is to still continue my RN program after a vacation, I know Nursing is a demanding career path, but it’s also a rewarding career choice. It is a career for those who are caring, reliable, can easily build relationships with the patients and their families and have the willingness to accompany and comfort each of them especially the times when they need a helping hand.
A career in nursing also puts you right on the cutting edge of innovative medicine and growing long-term care for chronic illnesses, which means you’re in an environment that’s constantly changing and offering you new opportunities to learn and increase your market value as a nurse.
I love the ICU unit, back then I remember being a housekeeper at Elliot in their ICU department and I kind of liked it there. The intensive care unit worked always as a team, I also like the fact that they are always learning because each patient experience is different and the skills they learn while working in the ICU are transferable to many other departments.
