Clara, age 78, lives alone, but her children live nearby. Her family expresses concern for her safety because she seems more forgetful. She has rejected the idea of living with her children or having someone come live with her as a companion. She states she is quite capable of caring for herself, and she doesn’t want to be a “burden.”
