1. Cheri and Lori genuinely believed that everything they did was in the interest of the patients and their testimony reflected that.
2. Death is a more open topic in some countries, but can be very sensitive in the US at least. No one ever wants to plan for a worst case scenario like the events in the book
3. I believe that not charging Pou and the nurses was not justice even if you find them innocent. The storm brought many weaknesses to light and no one benefits from holding the ‘lowest on the totem pole’ responsible. The nurses genuinely felt abandoned by the company and their state and someone should have to answer for it. Focusing solely on the nursing staff was a mistake in my opinion.
