To ensure patient safety is being promoted while giving medications it is important to follow the six rights of medication administration. These rights are right drug, dose, route, time, and right patient. Its important not to use abbreviations because it is prone for errors. Several drugs have names that look and sound alike, therefore using tall man lettering minimizes the risk of medication errors.
